Someone Else to Help
About Us

At our core, we are a team of individuals who have experienced the challenges of caregiving and receiving care firsthand. We understand the emotional toll, the financial strain, and the overwhelming need for information and support that comes with caring for a loved one or requiring care ourselves.
Our journey began with Katie, who witnessed her mother become a full-time caregiver for her father during his battle with lung and prostate cancer. Years later, Katie herself faced a colon cancer diagnosis at 42, experiencing the invaluable support of friends and family during her treatment and recovery.
The COVID-19 pandemic further highlighted the critical need for care and companionship, especially among the elderly. Katie's mother, Josephine, began showing signs of dementia, prompting Katie to become her live-in caregiver while working remotely. This experience opened her eyes to the complexities of caring for someone with cognitive decline, from managing medications to ensuring safety and quality of life. Through these personal experiences, we recognized a gap in the caregiving landscape.
We saw the need for:
- Affordable, accessible home care options
- Comprehensive information and guidance for caregivers
- Support for those suddenly thrust into caregiving roles
- A compassionate approach to care that prioritizes both caregivers and care recipients

Our mission is to provide non-profit care directly to people in their homes.
We aim to offer:
- Higher wages for caregivers and lower fees for families
- A sliding scale to accommodate various financial situations
- Expert advice to navigate the complexities of caregiving
- A combination of volunteer support and paid non-medical helpers
- Resources and information to empower both caregivers and care recipients
We believe that quality care should be accessible to all, regardless of financial means. Our team is committed to being a trusted source of support, information, and compassion for those facing the challenges of caregiving or requiring care themselves.By sharing our experiences and leveraging our expertise, we hope to make the caregiving journey less daunting and more manageable for families across our community. Together, we can create a network of care that honors the dignity of every individual and supports the well-being of both caregivers and care recipients.
